Leo Elder passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 at

Cottonwoods Extended Care Centre at the age of 88. Leo was born December 17th,

1924 in Saskatchewan; where he married Madeline, his wife of 67 years. They moved to Kelowna in 1974 where he worked in the construction trade. For many years (12+) Leo was a volunteer for the Okanagan Neurological Society, a member of the Lions Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus for 25 + years.

He was also manager of the St. Theresa’s Cemetery for more than 10 years. He leaves behind 6 surviving children; Jim (Susan), Stephen (Elaine), Leo (Maria), Jackie (Dave), Peter (Michele), Rhonda (Paul), and one predeceased son, Tom. In addition he has 4 surviving sisters, 11 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Prayers will be recited 6:30PM on Sunday, September 29th, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 750 N. Rutland Road. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Monday, September 30th with Father Otto Rollheiser O.M.I. officiating. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Leo’s memory to The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) 1929 Bayview Avenue,
