MOORHOUSE, LILLIAN PEARL

(nee Nimilowicz)

October 15, 1926 ~ March 25, 2016

After 89 years of taking care of others, Lillian finally rested on Good Friday, following an 87 day hospital and

rehabilitation stay at KGH/Cottonwoods. Born in Edam, Saskatchewan and married in Vancouver on her birthday in 1962 to her husband, James, who predeceased her in 2003,Lillian is survived by her

son, Robert, on whose 47th birthday she passed away.

Predeceased by her brothers Bill and Al, and her sister Mary, Lillian has been a resident of the Okanagan for over 50 years. Some of you may have been served by her at Sing's Restaurant on Bernard in the 60's and 70's, or at The Empress Gardens on Harvey at Burtch in the 80's, where she always had a kind word (and a bit of sass) for everyone she had the pleasure to meet.

Prior to that, Lillian was a legendary apple picker who worked at Vanguard RV's in the 60's and 70's in Winfield,as well as at Sun Rype in 1960 when she first came to the Okanagan.

Mom was a memorable hostess whenever anyone came by, and her table was always overflowing with her homemade food and desserts. When she had the time, she would can and preserve the bountiful fruits and vegetables that she picked and that others brought over for her.

Lillian will be most remembered by her friends for her love

of plants and anything she could make grow. Her home was a veritable jungle and her flower boxes were always well tended. On their hobby farm, cattle, hogs and fowl kept her days busy, from sunrise to sunset. By her son, she will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, and for her love of professional wrestling and game shows/reality TV.

There will never be another woman like Lillian Moorhouse. As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service, but

rather she asked that you remember her kindly, and light a candle in her memory. Rest in peace, Mom.
