Louise Stewart

It is with saddened hearts that our family announces the passing of our beloved Louise Stewart after a long, brave battle.  Louise had a sparkling personality, a fabulous sense of humour and a contagious laugh.  She was an amazing lady who had a gracious, kind heart, a generous spirit and an unprecedented zest for living that drew her to many diverse people, interests and activities.  The Living Hope Church, its family and her faith in God brought her much peace and comfort and she so loved belonging there.  She was known as “Lady La Dee Dah” within her Red Hat group; and she loved to dragonboat, kayak, golf & dine with the Comox Valley Newcomers.  Louise had a real passion for volunteering and giving back to causes close to her heart and soul, like community involvement with her church, the Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels, the ladies auxiliary at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and World Vision where she has sponsored a child for several years.  Louise got tremendous joy out of being with her family and watching her children and grandchildren grow and prosper.  She is lovingly survived by her daughter Trina Joslin (Dustin), her son Cory Doig (Jenny), grandsons Bradly & Justin Doig and Jaxon Joslin, and her sisters Lorrie Stewart (Neil Blackburn), Heather Stewart (John Baigent), and brother Roy Stewart (Shauna Stauffer) and their families, as well as countless friends and loved ones.  In heaven she joins her parents Mary & Wassy Stewart.  Louise was a bright light who touched many and while comfort comes in knowing she is at peace, she leaves an irrepairable hole in our lives.  She may be gone from our sight but never our hearts.  “God came down from heaven, He walked amidst the flowers.  He stopped to pick the sweetest one and the one He picked was ours.  Her golden heart stopped beating, her body now at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.” Celebration of Louise’s life to be held at Comox Pentecostal Church, 1919 Guthrie Road in Comox on Friday May 2nd, 2008 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louise’s honour can be made to the Living Hope Building Fund, contact the Living Hope office at 334-9777.
