KLINGSPON: LYNN,

It is with great sadness that the family of Lynn Klingspon announces her passing from this life on Thursday, January 19, at the age of 102 years. Lynn passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at Sun Pointe Village where she resided for the past four years. Lynn was predeceased by her daughter Brenda Wendy in 1956, and by her husband of fifty seven years, Albert (Abb), in 1995. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Marie Starrie, Johnny Huculak, Sandy Huculak, and Mac Huculak. Lynn is lovingly remembered by two sons, Gary Klingspon and Roger Klingspon of Kelowna; three daughters, Delores Klingspon (Harry Zielke), Marilyn Klingspon, and Eileen Linfield (Gordon); four grandchildren, Micheal Vonn, Shauna Klingspon, Aerik Klingspon, Sarah Deichen (Ian); three great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Also surviving Lynn in Edmonton are her sisters Anne Chrapko and Kay Henick, and sister-in-law Doreen Huculak. Long time Kelowna residents, Lynn and her husband Abb moved to Kelowna in 1956 and were the owner operators of Kelowna Upholstery and Supply Ltd. They ran a successful business and some of their furnishings grace Kelowna homes to this day. Lynn was active in her church community and, for recreation, enjoyed a bowling league for many years. She was especially proud of acquiring a heritage home on Lawrence Avenue, which the family occupied for close to fifty years. Her motto must have been “MY home is YOUR home” as she entertained most generously for many years, always having an open door for friends and relatives. Her spirit of hospitality was second to none. At the age of 98, she moved on to full-time care. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sun Pointe Village for their most excellent care and concern for Lynn during her residency there. She was always made to feel very much “at home.” Lynn will be sadly missed and will live in our hearts forever. What a beautiful difference one single life has made! A Celebration of Life will be held for Lynn at First Memorial Funeral Home, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, on Tuesday, January 31, at 2:00 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Activity Fund at Sun Pointe Village, 700 Rutland Road North, Kelowna, BC V1X 7W8.Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.firstmemorialfuneralkelowna.com .
