March 19, 1934 - April 26, 2021
Marcel Deleurme passed away in his home on April 26, 2021. A short battle with lung cancer took him to be with our loving Lord where he is resting in Peace.
On March 19, 1934, Marcel was born to farmers, Pierre "Pete" & Antoinette "Tony" (née Chammartin) Deleurme, in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba.
Twelve years later, Antoinette took her, then seven, children, by train, across Canada to meet up with her husband Pete in Kelowna, British Columbia.
At 22 years old, Marcel moved to the Glenmore area of Kelowna where he settled in a house he built at the base of Knox Mountain. Marcel had a passion for the Great Outdoors, and he enjoyed the wildlife that would visit his backyard.
Farming, hunting, and riding horses were a regular part of his life; Marcel truly was a cowboy at heart. Marcel is survived by his daughters Jeannette (Michael) Destraka, Debbie (Marty) Shaugnessy, Marcy Deleurme, and Tammy Deleurme; his grandchildren Leah (Chad) Pooler, Laura (David) Prchal, Curtis Zerr, Matthew Shaughnessy, Joshua (Nicki) Shaughnessy, and Danielle Deleurme; and his six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister Anjie (Jim) Greenlay; his brothers Lucien (Rose) Deleurme, Lionel Deleurme, and Denis (Doreen) Deleurme; his sisters-in-law, Andre's wife, Judy Deleurme and, Ron's wife, Heidi Deleurme.
Marcel was predeceased by his parents; his brothers Andre and Ron Deleurme; his sister Yvonne & her husband Lawrence Bouvette; his sister-in-law, wife of Lionel, Marilyn Deleurme; and son-in-law, Jeannette's husband, Wayne Zerr.
