Margaret Belle LOFGREN (Reimer

LOFGREN (Reimer), Margaret Belle

December 27, 1918 to May 28, 2010

Margaret Belle Lofgren was looking forward to the next part of her journey, joining her father and mother, her husbands, John Reimer and Ed Lofgren, her son Lenard, stepsons Curtis & Gary and her beloved brothers and sisters. Born in Devlin, Ontario on December 27, 1918, one of the well known McTavish family, she was loved for her care for everyone, her industrious nature, her sense of humour as well as her wonderful singing voice. She married John Reimer in 1937 in Fort Frances, Ontario. Eventually they moved to B.C., living in Whonnock, Lumby, Vernon, Malakwa and Sicamous, where John died. She married Edwin Leonard Lofgren in Sicamous and they lived there and in Penticton where Ed passed away in 1999. For the past six years she was a resident in the Village at Smith Creek in West Kelowna, B.C. She is survived by her daughter Betty Meinzinger (Joe) of West Kelowna and her two sons Dick Reimer (Anne) of Penticton, B.C. and Jim Reimer (Shirley) of Merritt, B.C. and step-children, Gayle Ewin (John), Clayton Lofgren (Francy), Newton Lofgren (Greta), and JoAnne Bornholdt (Dick). Her 10 grandchildren remember Grandma best for the many wonderful Thanksgivings at her home in Sicamous. She was proud to review the list of her 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandsons, and Ed’s 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family would like to thank the staff of the Village of Smith Creek for their affectionate, competent care. In lieu of flowers, her family gratefully suggest donations to the Village at Smith Creek Activity Department, 2425 Orlin Rd., West Kelowna, B.C. V4T 1N3 or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 201 – 1456 St. Paul St., Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 2E6. A Memorial Service was held on June 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Everden Rust Funeral Chapel, 1910 Windsor Road, Kelowna. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, June 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at The Sicamous Cemetery. All are welcome. Condolences can be left for the family by visiting www.everdenrust.com
