Mathew PRIETCHUK

Mathew (Mike) went to be with the Lord peacefully on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the age of 87. He is survived by his loving wife Geraldine of 20 years; daughter Annalies Neumann (Peter) of Kelowna; son Ralph Prietchuk (Pry) of Penticton; five grandchildren: Jason Bennett, Jeremy Bennett, Jamie Bennett, Sam Prietchuk and Tim Prietchuk; four great grandchildren; sisters Eunice McKenzie of Buchanan, SK, Effie Prietchuk of Buchanan, SK, Helen (Jim) Gwillan of Trail, BC, brother John Prietchuk of Buchanan, SK, sister Martha Prytula of Victoria, BC and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother and father, sisters Patricia, Pauline, Mary and Elizabeth and brother Henry. Mike served in the World War II. His active service was in France, Germany, Belgium and was involved in the liberation of Holland. Mike received the Canadian Volunteer Medal, the France and German Star and a Defense Medal. Mike was a Federal Civil Servant and worked for the Kelowna Post Office for 30 years. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC with interment to follow in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 865 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 6P6.
