RUNGE, MAUDE (nee COOPER)
Passed away peacefully on December 11th, 2013 at the age of 98 years. Maude was predeceased by her parents, her husband Nickolas Runge, brother Augustus Cooper, sister Blanche Morgan, son Roderick Runge and granddaughter Marnie Faulk. Maude is survived by her daughter
Dorinda (Floyd) Faulk of Kelowna, five grandchildren, Laurie, Steven, Tiffany, Aimee and Adam, six great grandchildren and special niece, Lois Nelson of Calgary. Maude was born and raised in Pangman, Sask. Upon completing her grade XII she became a teacher and had many gratifying positions in Southern Sask. She especially enjoyed teaching grades V and VI classes. Over the years she lived in Ceylon, Weyburn and Saskatoon Sask., before finally settling in Kelowna, where she made many new and cherished friends. Blessed with a healthy life, she enjoyed travelling to Alaska, The Maritimes, Arizona, Nevada and California. Mom was a classy lady who loved music and played the piano very well. She was strong-willed and always demanded that things be done properly. Amazingly, she kept mentally sharp by her passion for word puzzles, scrabble, cribbage and watching Wheel of Fortune on TV. She also loved to watch baseball, relentlessly cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays. Through all life’s challenges she never lost her sense of humor. We will all remember her wit. The family is grateful for the wonderful care and kindness extended to Maude by the staff at Sutherland Hills Rest Home. There will be no service by request. Private interment at a later date.
