On January 12, 2021, Milton Irving Young passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 92. Irving (Ken) was predeceased by his partner and the love of his life, Peggy, in June 2018. Irving was the third child born to Milton and Mary Young in Danford Lake, Quebec.
As a young boy, with his mother and siblings, Irving relocated to Ottawa. In Ottawa, he had a successful career as a member of the RCMP and CSIS. Upon his retirement, Irving and Peggy made their weekend cottage their home at Heney Lake, Quebec. There, Irving spent his time renovating the cottage.
Always, there was an open invitation for family and friends to come and enjoy with them. Unable to resist the pull of the Rockies and the temperatures of BC, Irving and Peggy relocated to the Okanagan to make a new home.
The love of travel and time spent together led them to Peachland, Penticton, and West Kelowna. In all places, Irving shared new friendships and their happy home. With each other and with siblings, Irving and Peggy traveled extensively throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico, Barbados, and Portugal, each time forging more happy memories. Irving (Ken) enjoyed sports, times spent with family, cooking, making a mouth-watering pina colada, and sharing his well informed thoughts on any topic.
Irving was predeceased by his parents, his siblings Isobel Porter, Ernest Young, Gordon Young, Shirley Brezinski, his beloved Peggy. Irving leaves behind Peggy's surviving family, as well as nieces and nephews who all loved and respected him.
We know you are reunited with Peggy, so we do not mourn, but will continue to share happy memories and our love for family.
