1943 – 2016

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Monika Inge Bulau in Kelowna, BC at the age of 73. Monika was born in Dietenhofen, Germany and moved to Canada as a child in 1954. She was an active member of the Maple Leaf Almrauch Club in Ottawa until moving to Kelowna in 1977, where she joined the German Canadian Harmonie Club. She will be particularly missed by the members of the shooting club. She is predeceased by her parents Oswald and Henriette Bulau and her husband Matthias Scherk. Monika is survived by her children Sonja (Wayne), Bruno (Natalie) and Udo (Stacey), grandchildren Erika (Kurtis), Andrea (Neil), Saja and Jager as well as her great grandson who is expected in November 2016. She will be missed dearly by her loving companion Arno Grund as well as life long friends from Ottawa and Kelowna. As per her request there will be no service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the German Canadian Harmonie Club. Monika loved her dogs dearly and a contribution in her memory to the BC SPCA would be appreciated.
