March 2, 1920 - August 4, 2021
Nick Husch passed peacefully at home, August 04, 2021. Born March 2, 1930.
He was 91 years old. He was predeceased by wife Frieda of 70 years. He is survived by 6 children: Dennis, Russell, Virginia, Joe, Pam and Penny. Plus 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
He was one of the first babies to be born in the Kelowna General Hospital. He lived a very active life.
He started out by working on Kelowna Tug Boats as Steam Engineer, and later had his own trucking company. He also served on many Rutland Community Boards to further the development of Rutland.
As his family was one of the oldest in Rutland, he felt that his duty was to contribute, and he readily did so.
His passion was travelling, fishing and hunting. All of his spare time was planned.
Dad is one of the last of the few original Rutland Pioneers who not only knew the Rutland History but helped shape the history. He will be missed by his family and old time friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Corpus Christi Church, 750 Rutland Road, at 11 am. Refreshments to follow at the Church. Please join Nick's family and friends to share your stories and memories.
