With great sadness Orvin suddenly went to sleep at age 79 yrs. on Dec. 15, 2017.

Orvin was born in Prince Albert, Sask. in 1938.  His family moved when he was 2 yrs. old to Surrey B.C.

His first full time job was a radio announcer at CKSW Swift Current Sask. Later he returned to work at radio stations C-FUN and CKNW in Vancouver B.C.  In the spring of 1960 he joined the broadcasting staff at CKOV in Kelowna. He's most remembered for being the weatherman and newscaster at CHBC-TV for 27 years.

After retiring from announcing he continued with his alarm company Eagle Systems.

He is survived by his loving wife Judy of 56 yrs., sons Troy and Shan, four grandchildren, as well as his sister Minerva of Ontario. 

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 1880 Dallas Rd. Kelowna at 2:00 pm Jan. 6, 2018.
