Robert Wesley (Bob) McKinnon

McKinnon Robert Wesley (Bob) April 14, 1919 – January 6, 2010

A WWII veteran, Bob moved to Prince George with his Irish bride in 1948, residing there for 53 years before relocating to Kelowna. Bob passed away peacefully on January 6, 2010 surrounded by his family at the Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna. Bob is survived by his loving wife Mary of 66 years and his daughters; Kathleen Dennison (Lorne), Ann Klapstein (Roy) and Loreen Weatherly (Larry). Bob is also survived by his brothers; Alden (Coleen), Donald (Yukola), Earl (Elsie) and sisters; Merele Shaw (Ken) and Elinor Lucas. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Robert Dennison, Carol Dennison, Richard Anderson, Deborah Staley (Tobias), Wendy Weatherly (Michel), Craig Weatherly and seven great grandchildren; Alexis and Rylan Dennison, Andrew and Nathan Dennison, Rebecca, Alison and Sarah Staley. A memorial service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, on January 12, 2010 at 1:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Central Okanagan Hospice House, 2035 Ethel St., Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 2Z6.
