“Jake,” together with his twin brother Donald, were born in Red Deer, AB on April 1, 1934.  The youngest of nine children, he was the last surviving sibling.  As a young child, he moved with his family to Prince George where he continued his education, met his wife Muriel, started a family and began his business career.  In 1971 he sold his shares in Hub City Motors to his, then partner Bill Burdon and moved to Kelowna, where he opened and successfully operated Jacobsen Pontiac Buick GMC Cadillac for over 40 years.  Throughout his life he was proud to serve his community, first through the Jaycees and then Rotary International, where he served as President of the Kelowna Chapter from 1977-1978.  Ron was a wonderful husband and father, he will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.  May he rest in peace.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9.
