Shirley Ann Turton passed away on November 13, 2020, at the age of 78.
She is survived by her husband Christopher Turton; her daughters Cindy Turton and Jennifer Turton-Molgat; her sons Troy and Mark Turton; her grandchildren Tori, Lucas, Emily, Lindsey, Christopher, Meghan, Maddie, Phoebe, and Amy; her sister Joy-Lynn Gattrel; brother Tim McDonald; her daughters in-law Laurie Turton and Mary-Jane Turton and son in-law Kent Molgat.
She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Ethel MacDonald, and her brother Darryl MacDonald.
Shirley Ann Turton was born April 3 1942 in Amherst Nova Scotia. Her family later moved to Whitehorse, Yukon where she met and married Christopher Turton. Her sons Troy and Mark were born in Whitehorse. Her daughters Cindy and Jennifer were born in Kelowna where the family became prominent in the fruit growing industry. Shirley was a member of Beta Sigma Phi where she formed many lifelong friendships. She was very active with the St. Mary's Anglican Church community.
All who met Shirley loved her. Her warmth and kindness made everyone feel welcome. Creating a comfortable, loving home and spending time with her children & grandchildren were her greatest joys. She had a quiet strength and a gentle, charitable nature. She will always be remembered for her positive outlook, and her quick, brilliant smile. She will be deeply missed but will remain always in our hearts.
There will be a Celebration of Life in Spring 2021 at St. Mary's Anglican Church 2710 East Kelowna Road with Reverend Trevor Freeman Officiating.
