Sorensen Stella - Passed away peacefully on Nov. 29, 2019 at Kelowna General Hospital. Stella was born in Willington Alberta June 4th 1941.
Grew up and lived on a farm until moving to Edmonton were she worked for the Bank of Montreal. She met Garry Sorensen and they were married November 21 1964. They moved across Canada, Halifax, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Chase, Selkirk and in 1973 moved to Kelowna were they finally settled. Having four children along the way she had a busy life raising them till graduation. Once they left the NEST she went to work full time starting at a Care Home as cook, then joined Garry to help run their restaurant Country Kitchen till her retirement in 2002.
Stella loved the outdoors camping fishing and was a great partner to Garry if they went deer hunting as she would yell GO DEER GO RUN RUN RUN. Didn't always get to go hunting tho. She loved her church family at Lakeview Baptist and was always involved in anything social that was going on. Volunteering was a big part of her life as well. Canadian Blood Services for 18 years, and West Kelowna Citizen Patrol from 1998 until present. Then of course there was Bingo on Thursday Night.
Stella is survived by her husband Garry, Daughter Lenora Lee (Sean Caterer) Grandson Adam, daughter Laurie Anne, Son Gary Jr. Was predeceased by son Allen (Cheryl) Granddaughter Carlina, Grandson Garrett. Brother and sister (inlaw) Hank and Rita of Valemont B.C.
A funeral service will be held at Lakeview Heights Baptist Church December 18th 2019 at 1 pm. Internment to held with family at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Kelowna. In lieu of flowers, donation to Kelowna S.P.C.A., would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements by Everden Rust Funeral Services (250)860-6440.
