At the age of 58, Stephen Welch passed away peacefully while at home, on November 24, 2022.
Funny and a good storyteller, Steve could captivate a crowd. He was an avid volunteer. For many years he was active in Kelowna Minor Hockey as coach and division director, Kelowna Minor Baseball as board member, coach and division director, Kelowna Minor Basketball as coach and Okanagan Athletics Club as a volunteer official.
Steve's love of problem-solving was evident in his pursuit to master a song on his guitar or find the solution to a complex IT problem at work.
Steve will be deeply missed by Tracy, who has been with Steve for 31 years, and their children Cameron and Zachary Welch. He was dearly loved by his mother-in-law, Lynn Birch, and his brother & sister-in-law, Richard and Holly Welch.
He was sadly preceded in death by his father and namesake, Stephen Patrick Welch.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to Canadian Mental Health Association (cmha.ca).
A Celebration of Life will be held to honour Stephen on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 1:00 pm, at Springfield Funeral Home (2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC).
