Passed away peacefully after a long battle with COPD on January 24, 2009 at the age of 70.  He spent his last days in the comfort of his home with the support of his family.  Terry was born in Cardston, Alberta in 1938 and was the oldest child of Frank and Wanda (Wilson) Day.  His parents and sister, Dawn Day predeceased him.  He is survived by his wife Joan, son Blaine, daughters Dana Langlois (Mike), Laurie Schwaiger (John), grandchildren, sister Myrna Day, and his devoted cat Mocha.  He enjoyed family camping excursions, fishing, curling, watching sports and the camaraderie of many friends.  He loved to tell jokes, play cards and listen to music.  Terry had a lifelong interest and encyclopedic memory of vintage cars.  He was a member and Past President of the United Commercial Travelers since 1975, as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #288.  The family thanks the Interior Health Community Support Services and the Palliative Response Team as they made Terry’s final days comfortable.  By request, there will be no service.  The family will hold a private gathering at a later date.  If desired, donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, #202-1456 St. Paul Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2E6.  Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com, 250-860-7077.
