With much sadness we say good-bye to Tom, who passed away peacefully in Kelowna, B.C. November 27th, 2009 at 86 years, with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents John Tait and Christina Brownlee. He leaves behind his loving wife Kathleen (nee Pilmer), three children Melanie (Dan), Colin (Martha), Keith (Josephine) and six wonderful grandchildren Keenan, Josh, Samantha, Paige, Sidney and Stephanie. He also leaves his brother Jack Brownlee and family and sister Nina Miller and family and many nieces and nephews, and his little buddy “Robbie”. Tom was a finishing carpenter who worked at VGH for 30 years and he passéd his trade along to his two sons. He was a member of the legions of Richmond, White Rock and Westbank and was a life long mason. He took up cooking in his 80’s, with soup being his specialty. He enjoyed time spent at the casino, playing crib and spending time with his family and many dear friends. Dad was inspirational to us all with his endless positive outlook, his strong work ethic and his tremendous sense of humour. We will hold his memory in our hearts forever. Special thanks to Dr. Ryan Bystrom and his staff and the staff at Springvalley Care Centre for taking such good care of our Dad. No Service by request.
