Ugo Bortolotto passed away peacefully on August 23, 2018 at the Central Okanagan Hospice House with loving family by his side.

He was 84 years of age. Ugo was born in Orsago, Italy, and grew up in Vittorio Veneto before immigrating to Montreal, Canada in 1954. There he met his loving wife Vilma. From there they moved across the country living in Vancouver, Kelowna, and finally settling in Win field where he spent his last 40 years alongside his vineyard.

He was a very strong willed and hardworking man, tending to his vineyard until he was 80 years old. He had a passion for languages, and became fluent in English, French, and Italian throughout his lifetime. Ugo was one of a kind, and never passed up the chance to make a witty remark, even in the last stages of his life. He also enjoyed making his own wine, cheering on the Montreal Canadiens, hunting and fishing, and spending time around his family.

Ugo is lovingly remembered by his daughter Caterina (Fabio), his son Lorenzo (Claire), and his grandchildren Isabella, Matteo, Cristina, Selina, Maria, his brother Luigi in Italy, and his beloved cats, Bailey and Smoochie. Ugo was predeceased by his wife Vilma, his older brother Dino, sister in law Luisa, daughter-in-law Dawn, and many family members from Vittorio Veneto.

A funeral service in memory of Ugo with be held on August 30th at 10:00am, at St. Edwards Church with reception to follow, 11123 Okanagan Road CTR E, Lake Country. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation. Condolences may be sent to the family by
