Born March 25, 1923 in Glasgow, Walter Yuile Sharp Harrison died May 2, 2008 at his home in Kelowna.  After serving in the RAF, Wally immigrated to Canada and in 1956 married Patricia Jean Corley of Vancouver.  They moved to the Okanagan where Wally worked in the insurance industry, but made time to build a new house for his now growing family, tend to his potato field in the back yard and take up the local hobby of wine making.  After retiring, Wally vigorously pursued his love of driving and spent much time exploring the highways and back roads of the Pacific Northwest.  Predeceased by his brother Alistair and his wife Pat.  Wally is survived by his children Joe (Linda) and Gloria Knowles; grandchildren: Lindsey, Megan, Natasha, Joel, Amber, Alysha Knowles, Gordie, Daniel and Kim Harrison.  Loved by all who knew him Wally will be remembered as a hard working, independent and critical thinker, yet who expressed compassion and generosity in everything.  A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 20th at 2:00 pm at the Lake Country Alliance Church, 12025 Oceola Road, Winfield, BC.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, 2268 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 1T2.  A gift in living memory of Walter will be made to “Hospice Care” by Springfield Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting, 250-860-7077.
