Walter Helmut Josef Schwab 1945 - 2017
Walter Josef Schwab passed away peacefully at home in West Kelowna with his family by his side on April 19, 2017 at the age of 71. He remained positive while living with cancer over the last year.
Walter was born in Weimar, Germany on October 29, 1945 and came to Canada with his family in 1949. As a child, he lived in the Calgary, Alberta area and then as an adult moved to BC in the 1970’s. Walter was a bricklayer and was a masonry contractor in the Okanagan for many years.
He is survived by his wife Debra and daughter Jennifer. He is predeceased by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
His interests included playing his bass, hockey and photography. He enjoyed spending time with his family hiking, camping and boating in the beautiful Okanagan.
A come and go memorial tea/coffee will be held in his honor on May 13 from 1-4pm at The Cove Lakeside Resort, West Kelowna.
