November 20, 1919 – November 27, 2008 – passed away peacefully in his sleep.  He is survived by his two sons: Chris (Bev), Bruce (Brenda), four grandchildren:  Shannon (Darren), Shelley (Chad), Kathy (Joel), Jeffrey, one great grandson Nolan, two sisters: Toots Roberts and Nancy (Ross) McDonagh, two brothers: Harvey (Mary) and Edgar (Norma).  Predeceased by his parents Dan and Lucie, wife Kay, granddaughter Stacey and sister Helen Wageman.  No service by request.  The family wishes to thank the KGH staff on 4 East for all their loving care given to Wilfred.  If desired, donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation:  2268 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 1T2.  Dad served overseas for four years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Paratrooper, was captured behind enemy lines and was held prisoner in Czechoslovakia for six months until liberated by the Americans.  He worked for the sawmill industry for 33 years before he retired to enjoy hunting, fishing, camping and golfing.  Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com, 250-860-7077.
