Will be lovingly missed not only by his immediate family, but also by nephews and nieces and many friends in both Scotland and Canada.
Bobby emigrated to Kelowna, BC, Canada in 1993 to be close to the majority of his children and grandchildren. His working life in Scotland was spent as a director, then chairman, of a long-established family Scotch Whisky company. His business associations with Canada led to the building of a number of strong personal friendships throughout the country.
He spent many hours on golf courses in Scotland as well as fishing Scottish rivers and always enjoyed his gardens wherever he lived, particularly in Kelowna where he nurtured and savoured his home grown fruit. Wherever he was his sense of humour was appreciated by everyone who knew him. In recent years, his love of fishing extended to organizing regular fishing adventures for many of his family on Canada’s west coast. These trips will remain as very happy memories for all who took part in them. Many family and friends were also lucky enough to attend his weekly ‘Sunday lunch’ tradition which showed his strong commitment to keeping his family close to him and one another. A Memorial Service will be held at St. David’s Presbyterian Church, 271 Glenmore Road, Kelowna on Saturday, April 10th at .2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Wildlife Fund.
