1914-2008. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yvonne Beatty. She died peacefully in her sleep at her daughter Nancy’s home in West Vancouver on October 20, 2008. Born in Rogersville, NB she was the last surviving child of Jude and Josephine Boudreau. She is survived by her children Clark, D’Arcy, and Nancy. Her grandchildren Nicole, Julianne, Curtis and Diana, and her beloved great grandson Logan. Following graduation from the convent, she became a professional Nanny in New Brunswick. There she met a dashing young newspaper man, Ralph Beatty and they were soon married. The following year she gave birth to her first son Clark, and the family moved to Ontario. After Yvonne lost her beloved husband Ralph to cancer in 1972, she established herself in Pompano Beach, Florida where she eventually built a new and happy life. She swam daily and delighted in running errands for her less able friends and neighbors on her adult trike. She would never sit down to Christmas dinner until she had prepared and served a full dinner to those elderly people in her condo, who were unable to do so for themselves. Yvonne was an avid reader, but her life long passion was popular music and dancing; this she enjoyed with her many friends well into her 80s. We celebrate Yvonne Beatty for her “Joie de Vivre”, her love of people, especially children and her unconditional generosity to family and friends. She showed us how to live, and we will remember her all of our lives.
