To the editor:
Recently our 16-year-old daughter started her first part-time job at a fast-food outlet on the Westside. After training she went about five weeks before working again.
Her first shift back was very busy and she was trying to remember everything and keep up. She was feeling a little flustered and overwhelmed when a very kind customer asked to speak with her. He told her “there would be better days” and gave her a tip.
This person made such a huge difference in her day. As parents we would like to say a huge thank you for your kindness. You really did turn her day around, and I know we can all benefit from remembering that sometimes patience and kindness can have a huge impact, especially when someone is young and just starting out in the work force.
