Letter: Get big money out of politics

The people of B.C. deserve to live in fair province where voices are equal, money can’t buy favours

To the editor:

Every week we are learning more about the way things work in Christy Clark’s wild west of political cash. Instead of working for British Columbians, the B.C. Liberals are working for big corporations bankrolling their campaign. We citizens need to get big money out of B.C.’s politics.

Once again, (fourteenth try) the NDP has proposed new rules to clean up political fundraising in B.C. and make the government work for people. What is missing is for Christy Clark to agree? The people of B.C. deserve to live in a fair province where all voices are equal and money can’t buy favours. But Christy Clark does not agree. The premier of B.C. appears to like the existing loopholes allowing big money in politics. Big money in politics should be banned.

Voters in the upcoming election have a chance to rectify this very important situation by not voting for anyone in the Liberal Party.
