To the editor:
I am exceedingly saddened by the recent news of the passing of my very good friend and former colleague, Dr. Bill Nelems. To say Dr. Nelems was an outstanding thoracic surgeon, philanthropist, scientist, medical researcher, cancer expert, teacher, mentor, friend, father, grandfather, overall very good man, is to sell this remarkable person short. I, we, will all miss him dearly. A truly remarkable human being, Canadian, British Columbian, and man of enormous presence and stature. Taken too soon from us, in my opinion, but that is God’s will. Good bye to my friend.
