Letter: Let's get disability pension petition going

The last increase disability got was 25 cents and we can't buy anything with that any more.

To the editor:

I would like to thank Sharon Schnurr (Disability 'Raise' Doesn't Cover Bill Increases, April 15 Kelowna Capital News) for taking the first step getting this going.

I would love to offer my help and time because all I receive on disability 2 is $906.42 for everything. I just went to get my eyes checked but can't afford what I call the user fee of $50 because I would have to save that up.

Yes we learn to budget but we don't get any raises when the cost of living goes up.

The last increase disability got was 25 cents and we can't buy anything with that any more.

I would like to invite Christy Clark to come and live in my wheelchair in my apartment on $906.42 for a month. Oh yes, I do know I can go to the food bank one time per month.

Please call me, Sharon. Let's get this petition going—it is long over due.
