Letter: Mountain bikers only concerned with trail sharing

MTBco has no formal position in regards to the KVR right of way.

To the editor:

Re: Battle Heats Up Over Property Trail Use, Oct. 3 Kelowna Capital News.

I’m disappointed that this article mixed two separate trail use conflicts into one.

The issues in Gillard [Forest Service Road] are minor and infrequent and have nothing In common with the issues on the KVR [Kettle Valley Railway]. Motorized use of Gillard trails is a small side note to the issue of legalization of the [motorized us of] KVR network.

MTBco has no formal position in regards to the KVR right of way. We support the rights of all responsible trail users and believe in fair access to the wilderness. Our issues are with illegal dumping, bush party refuse, gun range garbage, irresponsible firearm use and irresponsible trails users of all types.
