To the editor:
A stranger told me at the park one day
That soon the dog park will be taken away.
So I wrote a letter out of concern
Which others copied and mailed in turn
Then a call came from our Mayor Basran,
Asking me where this rumor began.
But no source I had to offer;
Just a comment from another dog walker.
Our mayor said I should have called City Hall
To inquire, then share the truth with all.
With humble apology I promised to remember
To phone for facts before spreading a rumor.
The park shall stay as it is, said our Mayor
And with that I wish all a great Summer!
