Letter: Seniors could send city taxi bills while transit on strike

Some people in this senior residence are talking about charging the city for the expenses on taxi services.

To the editor:

The number one topic in this senior residence is the present transit bus strike.

For many public transportation is not just a matter of quality of life, it is essential for some degree of independence. People need public transit to do their banking, shopping and medical appointments. Imposing on friends and relatives is not a valid option for many.

Some people here are talking about charging the city for the expenses on taxi services. We hope the authorities can get their act together and find some solution quickly.
