To the editor:

Congratulations to the British Columbia Dragoons on a highly successful weekend of activities, last month, marking the 100th anniversary of this distinguished regiment.

It was gratifying to see such a good public turnout for the formal parade, at which they received the Freedom of the City from Mayor Sharon Shepherd.

Our community can be very proud of the men and women of the Dragoons who continue to serve Canada with distinction. The regiment is made  up of community members and depends on the community for support.

One of the ways in which local companies can offer their support is by having a military leave policy in place in order to allow our soldiers to train and deploy. Our military reservists make for first class employees and bring to their companies a wealth of skills gained in the course of their military duties.

If you wish to learn more about how your company can assist in this way, please visit the Canadian Forces Liaison Council website at: http://www.cflc.forces.gc.ca.
