Former Warriors Goaltender Kevin Boyle (2010-11) recently attended the New York Islanders Rookie/Prospects Camp.

Boyle is coming off his rookie season with U-Mass Amherst (NCAA Div.1) as the starting goalie, leading all backstops in wins, goals against average and save percentage.

The Islanders Rookie Camp wrapped up with an Orange vs. Blue game and Boyle played on the Orange. The Orange team controlled play for much of the night and topped the blue team 6-0 in Thursday’s intra-squad prospect camp scrimmage in front of a packed house at Islanders Iceworks.Goaltenders Ken Reiter and Boyle combined for the shutout.

“It felt really good in the scrimmage game posting a shutout,” says Boyle.  “And I stopped 5 out of 5 shootout attempts on the islanders big name prospects.”

“They didn’t say too much about the future, just that they will keep close tabs on me, and be out to watch a lot next season,” added Boyle.

Boyle led the Warriors to game six versus Vernon in the 2011 playoffs, before being injured and not being able to compete in the pivotal final game.

That season he posted a 20-16-1 record as a rookie, and 1 shutout.
