Cassandra Brown is back in the Okanagan with her basketball camps, as her CB Elite Training Academy will be running five days of basketball skills action in August.

The camps are for girls in Grades 5-12. Kelowna will see a two-day event, on Saturday, Aug. 26 and Sunday Aug. 27, at Kelowna Christian School. Girls in Grades 5-7 will be on court from 9-11:30 a.m. on Saturday and 2-4:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Grades 8-12 ladies will compete from 12:30-3 p.m. on Saturday and 5-7 p.m. on Sunday.

Vernon basketball players will see three days of camp action, from Aug. 30-Sept. 1, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Hosted at Clarence Fulton Secondary, the Grades 5-7 camp will be from 9-11:30 a.m., while the 8-12 girls will participate from 12:30-3 p.m.

Brown is a staple in the Okanagan community, and has competed professionally in more than 15 countries. A former member of the Canadian Senior Women’s National Team, Brown recently came back from Australia, after competing with the Mount Gambier Pioneers of the NBL-One league.

Back in February, Brown was in Vernon for her camp that saw 40 girls participate.

“I decided to do it just for all girls because for boys sports they usually have so many (more) opportunities,” she told the Vernon Morning Star back in February. “It is nice to do something that is centred for just the girls.”

To register for the camp, visit cbelitetraining/com/registration. Cost is $99 for Kelowna’s and $125 for Vernon. A bag, signed poster and take home workouts are included in all camps.
