The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Swift Current Broncos 4-2 on Tuesday night, scoring three straight third period goals to come from behind for the team’s seventh straight victory to kick off a six game road trip.

The Rockets fired 44 shots at the Swift Current net but it took most of the game to get the lead as Zach Franko, Ryan Olsen and Colton Heffley, into an empty net, scored in the game’s final 3:18 to win.

The win improved the Rockets record to 23-3-0-2. It extended the team’s winning streak to seven and pulled it into a tie for first place in the WHL overall standings with Portland

Swift Current netminder Eetu Laurikainen was the story of the game as the Broncos goalie nearly stole the win with a 40 save performance. Kelowna outshot Swift Current 44-26 in the game.

Tyrell Goulbourne had the Rockets goal while Jordon Cooke was named the game’s second star for his work in earning the win.

The Rockets continue their road trip Wednesday night in Moose Jaw.
