Okanagan Sun enjoying bye week after huge win in Kamloops

The Sun are now 5-1 on the season, sitting second in the BCFC

The Okanagan Sun have swept the season series against the Kamloops Broncos.

It was a blowout at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops on Saturday night (Sept. 15) as the Sun toppled the Broncos 66-7.

For his effort in the game, the Sun’s Phillip Palmarin was named the British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) defensive player of the week and special teams player of the week. Defensively, he had three tackles, one interception, and one sack in the game as well as two special teams tackles and two blocked kicks.

With the win, the Sun improved to 5-1 on the season and sit second in the BCFC. In their six games, they’ve scored 282 points and have allowed just 99.

The Sun are now enjoying a bye week and aren’t back in action on Saturday, Sept. 30 against the Prince George Kodiaks in Prince George.
