The KSS Owls managed a win in four tries at the Riverside senior girls basketball tournament last weekend.
In their opener, the Owls lost 76-39 to No. 3 ranked Holy Cross. Hannah Friesen scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds for KSS.
The Owls bounced back in Game 2 for a 43-33 win over Fleetwood as Lexi Percival and Friesen scored nine points eeach, while Selma Kusturica had eight points and six rebounds.
The Owls then lost 55-40 to No. 5-ranked MEI from Abbotsford, as Friesen scored eight points and added nine boards.
In their last game, No. 6 Riverside beat KSS 72-44. Percival and Friesen scored eight points each while Kaitlyn Lafontaine added six.
“The KSS senior girls had a good growing weekend, although the win-loss record or game scores does not indicate that,” said Owls coach Lisa Nevoral.
The Owls will have a two-week break before heading back to the Lower Mainland on the first weekend back at school.

Heading into Christmas, the Owls are ranked 10th in B.C. at AAA level.
