The Kelowna Rockets won their fifth game as Adam Brown kicked out 26 shots and captain Tyson Barrie scored the winner in a 2-1 win over Edmonton.

Brown shut the door in the third period, making several key stops with the Rockets up 2-1, preserving Kelowna’s fifth win in a row as the Rockets climbed to 9-10 on the season.

Tyson Barrie put the Rockets up for good with his fourth goal of the season on a Rockets power play at 14:49 of the second period. Off the rush, Barrie took a drop pass from Shane McColgan and zipped a wrist shot through traffic and into the glove side corner, making the score 2-1 Kelowna.

The Oil Kings tied the game at 1-1 with an early second period goal on a 5 on 3 power play. T.J Foster tipped in a point shot fifteen seconds into the period.

The Rockets scored the only goal of the first period on a one-time laser-beam from Geordie Wudrick at 13:46 of the first period. Wudrick got a nice feed from Cody Chikie and ripped his sixth of the season into the top corner for a 1-0 Kelowna lead.

The Oil Kings outshot Kelowna 11-6 in the first period but Brown stopped all 11 shots in his ninth straight start for Kelowna.

Kelowna will play two home games at Prospera Place this week. After tonight’s game the team will play Friday night against Prince George.
