Rockets’ forward Tyrell Goulbourne has been named the WHL’s player of the week.
The 21-year-old Edmonton native scored three goals, added four assists and posted a plus-5 rating as the Rockets swept a pair of games at home from the Everett Silvertips.
Goulbourne, a third-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2013, had a goal and an assist in Friday’s 5-3 win over the ‘Tips, then added five points, on two goals and three assists, in Saturday’s 9-3 victory.
Rockets head coach Dan Lambert said it could be the best hockey Goulbourne has played during his WHL career.
In 39 games this season, Goulbourne has 17 goals, 16 assists and a plus-14 rating.
