Rockets Pound Prince George for Second Straight Win

Kelowna takes PG 8-4 to climb into a tie for first in the WHL BC Division

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Prince George Cougars 8-4 Saturday night in Prince George, sweeping a two game set between the two teams this weekend.

Eight different Rockets scored for Kelowna, which won its sixth straight game and 12th of its past 13 to move into a tie for first place in the WHL’s BC Division with idle Kamloops.

Justin Kirkland scored his first ever Western Hockey League goal while Jordon Cooke earned the win in net.

Tyrell Goulbourne, Zach Franko, Myles Bell, JT Barnett, Tyson Baillie, Colton Sissons and Jesse Lees all had goals in the win.

Kelowna improved to 29-10-1-1 on the season and into a tie with the Blazers atop the BC Division.

The Rockets also won 4-2 on Friday night in Prince George.

Kelowna returns home for a pair of games at Prospera Place this week.

On Wednesday the team will play the Victoria Royals while Friday Kelowna plays host to the Tri-City Americans.
