Rockets start 0-3

The Kelowna Rockets outshot the Tri-City Americans in their own building but still came out on the wrong end of the score in WHL Friday night at the Toyota Center. Adam Hughesman’s goal five minutes into the first period stood up as the winner as the Ams edged the Rockets 1-0.

Drew Owsley stopped all 34 Kelowna shots for the shutout, while Adam Brown blocked 25 of 26 in the loss.

Kelowna (0-3) will look for its first win of the regular season Friday night in Vancouver against the Giants (3-3). The Rockets will host Prince Albert Saturday.
