Rockets' captain will wear 'C' next week at the Top Prospects Game in Kelowna

It shouldn’t be much of a stretch for Colton Sissons.

The captain of the Kelowna Rockets will serve as captain of Team Orr for the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game next Wednesday night at Prospera Place.

The Team Orr coaching staff will feature Don Hay of the Vanouver Giants and longtime NHL coach Pat Quinn.

Everett defenceman Ryan Murray will serve as captain for Team Cherry, coached by Kelowna’s Ryan Huska and ex-NHL star Mark Recchi.

Sissons, 18, from North Vancouver is the top ranked WHL forward at number 14 in NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.  Playing in his second season with the Rockets, Sissons has 25 goals and 36 points in 48 games.

Rockets defenceman Damon Severson will suit up for Team Cherry.

The 2012 Home Hardware Top Prospects Game will mark the 17th annual showcase of the CHL’s top-40 NHL draft eligible players.

The two-day event also features a skills competition and three-on-three challenge taking place on Tuesday,  Jan.31. Ticket packages are still available for the two-day event and can be purchased at www.selectyourtickets.com/prospects.php, or by calling 250-762-5050.
