Three former Penticton Vees were among those to suit up in the opening games of the 2024-2025 NHL season.

Troy Stecher (Edmonton Oilers), Dante Fabbro (Nashville Predators), and Mike Reilly (New York Islanders) all saw action this week for their respective NHL clubs.

Reilly and Stecher were BCHL teammates with Penticton during the 2011-2012 season. The latter played three seasons with the Vees, from 2010 to 2013.

Fabbro, meanwhile, played for Fred Harbinson's Vees from 2014 to 2016.

Stecher, Reilly, and Fabbro are three of the 16 former BCHL players to make NHL opening night rosters.

The Carolina Hurricanes' Bradly Nadeau, who starred with the Vees' back-to-back championships team in 2022 and 2023, began his season with the Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League.

The Islanders and Predators are the only teams to boast multiple BCHL alumni to start the new NHL season.
