Warriors host first-place Vees Tuesday

West Kelowna, coming off a weekend split, hanging on to fourth in BCHL's Interior Division

The West Kelowna Warriors will host the Penticton Vees Tuesday in yet another key BCHL Interior Division matchup.

Face off at Royal LePage Place is 7 p.m.

The Warriors (22-16-0-5) are in the thick of a tight race for post-season berths in the Interior, currently sitting in fourth spot with 49 points, one back of Merritt and five ahead of fifth-place Salmon Arm. The top four teams will make the playoffs.

On Saturday at Royal LePage, the Warriors took care of Powell River 6-4, bouncing back from a loss the previous night in Vernon.

Liam Blackburn scored twice and added an assist, while captain Andrew Johnson had a goal and two assists.

“At this time of year the wins are tough,” said Warriors’ head coach and GM Rylan Ferster. “We just want to stay in one of those top four spots and hopefully make the playoffs.”

West Kelowna’s next home action is Saturday, Jan. 31 against the Merritt Centennials.
