Kelowna residents in the Black Mountain area will soon be able to get their liquor a lot quicker.

Photos and posts have been teased in the Black Mountain Community Facebook group since September and now after six months, Black Mountain Liquor Store is soon to open. Now they are aiming to open the store by the end of February or early in March.

“We looked at this property earlier last year and we looked at it and we ended up buying it,” said the developer of the store, who’s a Black Mountain resident. “We’ve been in with liquor stores for a while now and it makes sense because Black Mountain doesn’t have anything up here.”

On Feb. 4, a post in the Facebook group asked for people looking for part-time work to apply to work at the new store.

“It’s the first stop into Kelowna and the last stop out of Kelowna, it’s something [Black Mountain] residents have been wanting for a long time.”

Black Mountain Liquor Store is located at 2040 Joe Riche Road.
