Quick action from the Kelowna Fire Department (KFD) kept fire damage to multiple properties to a minimum on Monday, June 10.
Around 4 p.m., the fire department received a call reporting heavy smoke and flames between townhouses complexes on Burtch Road. Smoke from the blaze could be seen from downtown
Upon arrival crews found a hedge on fire affecting a shed and multiple homes. Crews were able to douse the blaze quickly, limiting exterior damages to the homes.
It's not known how the fire started. It is under investigation but not suspicious in nature.
No one was injured.
KFD responded to the scene with three engines, a rescue truck. The RCMP and emergency services also attended the scene.
