A local music festival raised a lot of money for a good cause.

At the recent Denim on the Diamond music festival that happened on Oct. 6 and 7, $33,177 was raised for the YMCA of Southern Interior BC.

“We are so thankful to our good friends and community partners Denim on the Diamond for choosing the Y as one of their charities of choice,” said the non-profit organization in a Facebook Post.

All funds are going to the YMCA’s Beyond The Bell program as well as helping residents affected by the Grouse Complex of wildfires that happened in August and September.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the Denim on the Diamond team and Thick as Thieves Entertainment for spreading joy and raising spirits, not only through the festival, but with this impactful donation as well,” the Facebook post continues.
