As the first official day of spring break kicked off on Monday, multiple car crashes were reported across Kelowna.

From a three-vehicle crash at Highway 97 and Sexsmith to a four-vehicle rear-ender that blocked traffic later in the day near Cooper, to a fender bender where both vehicles involved had to be towed from Springfield Road and Tamarack, it was a busy day on the roads.

Then at about 5 p.m., a vehicle swerved out of the eastbound lanes of Highway 33 near Highway 97, over the sidewalk and into the bush.

The single vehicle also crashed into some sort of cement object before colliding with the bushes.

Airbags were deployed in the vehicle, however, the driver did not go to hospital.

One lane of Highway 33 was closed while emergency crews were on scene.

It’s unclear what caused the vehicle to leave the road.
