Lake Country’s new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) wasted no time in getting busy with his new job.

Paul Gipps took over the role on Feb. 12 after spending 4.5 years as CAO for the City of West Kelowna.

He spoke to a crowd of B.C. mayors, councillors, and provincial officials at the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) Housing Summit in Vancouver last week.

His topic was ‘Transforming the Planning Framework with Limited Capacity.’

Mayor Blair Ireland, Councillor Tricia Brett, and Michael Lewis, along with Jared Kassel, Lake Country’s director of planning and development, also attended the summit.

Ireland met Federal Minister of Housing, Sean Fraser, and spoke with him about the districts’ need for infrastructure funding for water, roads, and sewer.
